Architectural Drawing

I am hooked on drawing architecture! I didn't want to stop but then began another drawing challenge where I've found even more inspiration!  I hunger to continue drawing every moment possible until the very last drop!

Fishing houses on the coast of England 

I was inspired by a video posted by a fellow artist on the on-line drawing group that I shared about in a previous post and thought to try this technique during Art Experience. 

The table was brimming with youth busily creating there own drawings and filling the shapes with color.  The following Alsace, France drawings are crated by my daughter.

Morning in Minneapolis

From the moment my daughter and I exited the parking lot, I noticed everything. Excitement of capturing an image was running wildly through my veins. Color, angles, contrasts, layers were everywhere...I couldn't stop myself.

We reminisced about our first visit to the Guthrie with our dear family, exploring the Endless Bridge and taking group photos on the 9th floor.

 I will always remember her intrigue and delight as she pointed out the network of pipes on the roof.

A few more photos were captured after the "must see" performance of Pericles by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and The Folger Theatre.

Windows to the Sky

    

While driving out in the country we notice a structure being built on the upward curve of the road. The tall white walls command the space while all the fields fall by it's side. At this moment, the openings frame the sky like a painting. Along with this thought, the blue and white colors and the sharp lines remind me of the American painter, Georgia O'Keefe. 

I forgot my camera today, but will be back.
