Winter Barn

Often while traveling by this abandoned barn, I think about taking a photo. I especially enjoy looking at it with a blanket of snow covering the ground. On this particular day I thought it may be my last chance, so I didn't hesitate.

Since I walked, I captured a few other photos along the way.

Up

The trees became sculptures with immense strength pulling one quickly into the sky....they are their own presence.

I love when one intention metamorphoses into another. I was brought to another layer of creating while in the woods doing field work for a class and the desire to take a photo of one of my favorite views of trees (below), reminding me of a circle, reminding me of relationships, reminding me.

The transformation happened again while compiling the photos. As the photos were placed next to each other they created other worlds.

Ukrainian Eggs

Creating Ukrainian eggs has become a life long tradition beginning when my mom introduced this intricate and meditative art to us when we were teenagers. My own kids began when they were even younger, around four years old (with a little help).

This year, I had a few different groups of friends and family come over for a lot of cozy: art, conversation, morsels of food all while candles were lit.

We tried a couple new things too! Black dye and watercolor application with stunning results!

A few beauties created by my daughter!
