One of the most rewarding elements of hiking in the woods is to observe animals and notice all the signs they leave behind.
We are incredibly grateful that our dear friend searched the trees for a porcupine. We spent a full ten minutes observing this puff ball high in the branches.
As we were walking away,
my daughter noticed that it began to move, so for another ten minutes we
watched it ever so slowly climb to the branch above its perch.
