Up North: Winter Animals + Signs

One of the most rewarding elements of hiking in the woods is to observe animals and notice all the signs they leave behind.

We are incredibly grateful that our dear friend searched the trees for a porcupine. We spent a full ten minutes observing this puff ball high in the branches.

As we were walking away, my daughter noticed that it began to move, so for another ten minutes we watched it ever so slowly climb to the branch above its perch.

Mustache

Cleaning up after a party, I picked up a paper mustache from the floor. On a whim and without telling anyone (heehee), I attached it to one of the artworks on the walls of our home. Some days later, I heard one of the kids laughing in the bathroom.

Ahh, the mustache! I had forgotten about it. The game had begun, switching the mustache from picture to picture to object until the fun eventually ran out of steam.

...and started up again!

Creativity is found and manifested from anything and everywhere!

Up North: Winter Trees

A walk in the north woods during the winter is inspiring, quiet at times and beyond beautiful. As in any landscape, one notices the tiniest detail the longer one lingers.
