New York Street Art

Strolling in New York was invigorating and inspiring for all the colorful street art that was on view for all to behold...art on tall buildings, sculptures, accidental art and art that one needed to closely observe to discover.

I began documenting everything that delighted me... colors, shapes, design and message. Slowly, I began to perceive the art within its surroundings...moving away from documenting to creating a new image...one that spoke directly to me.

Here is a mix of both purposely ordered for a continuous flow from one image to the next.

Textiles

We visited the Guillermo del Toro exhibit and the following photos are details of the displayed dresses which transform into...

 flowing, rippling...

 ...cascading...

 turbulent water...

 ...billowing spiraling clouds...

...slowly crawling lava seeping through the earth's crust.

On the Window Ledge

As spring emerges, I notice the winter light slowly change course when pouring through the window to illuminate and cast shadows on the life waiting for the warmth of the outdoors.

Les Fèvres

The fèvres arrived a couple weeks ago special delivery all the way from France! Merci beaucoup Régis and Mimi!

On a sunny day, fun was had playing around with the fèvres, the bright sun and shadows. I chose to put them away until the day we will use them in a galette. I happened to use the beautiful Japanese paper cup and another ten or so photos later! Merci beaucoup Jen, Alex et JA pour l'élégant cadeau!
