Sew Much Fun!

There has been quite a few rainy days spent in the "cave" reading books.

~.~

Along the way, a request for a caveman costume to go with the cave.  Fleece is so easy to work with, that it can be sewn in a very short time without needing to hem!

...and for me going back to some sewing projects that were collected and patiently waiting to be realized.

A re-purposed garment made into a skirt. I love the image and when I saw it, I wanted to make it into something I could use. I thought of either a skirt or bag...now it's a skirt and it may turn into a bag in the future!

A satchel and small bag inside to put all the little things.

And what began it all, a couple of skirts that are a work in progress, waiting for the lining and zippers.

Blooms

rose from grandma Blanche's garden

Color, color, color! I love to soak in all the colors, textures and scents of the ever blooming flowers throughout the garden. As I experience the variations within the season, I take note of adding some color here or there...to eventually create a canvas of continual transformation.

Dreaming

Above is a sketch of our future backyard with a stone path, waterfall, caravan and sauna.  I made this sketch a couple years ago to make sure my dream stays alive even though much time has passed.

Just after thinking about putting a sauna in our backyard, I received many plants from my mom and stones from a friend of hers...so I thought, why not begin with the garden and the rest will materialize in good time.  Later that summer, my neighbor came over with a sauna door!

A Peek at the Garden

Since we moved to our first home seven years ago, our garden continues to grow since our first summer.  It is a living canvas that changes from day to day and through the seasons.  I enjoy watching these changes and thinking of what flowers and plants I will add or move around to capture the beauty of nature. Many times it is serendipity from the many flowers and plants my mom has given me over the years.  I'm so grateful to her because when she has plants to give away, it's time to add another garden!
